Message retention and delivery support customers' corporate communications policies and industry compliance with regulations such as the SEC's 17a-4 rule. Some of these policies and regulations require that organisations keep archives of business communications for a period of several years (three years in the case of SEC 17a-4), and make the records retrievable and searchable for auditing purposes.

Markit Connex message retention and delivery service captures logs of messages between users and delivers those logs to Markit’s customers through several formats and transfer mechanisms. Message retention and delivery is used with the Markit Connex business connectivity suite and other messaging services operated on the Markit Connex network for messaging.
