Markit BOAT™ uses proven exchange software developed by our technology partner, Cinnober. It runs using the standard TRADExpress engine. TRADExpress is a scalable, high performance, low latency platform for transaction processing. It is 100% Java based, ensuring flexibility and independence of hardware and database. Reporting clients connect using FIX 4.4 or via their front office ISV.

Cinnober is a provider of core technology to trading markets within the financial energy and commodity sectors. Cinnober currently serves a number of leading markets with mission critical systems. These include The American Stock Exchange, The Chicago Board of Options Exchange, EuronextLiffe and Borsa Italia.

The application is hosted at two London data centres of BT Radianz and COLT. Both organisations provide highly secured, fully resilient networks that protect the integrity of the data being transmitted. We recommend standard implementation where reporting clients use both providers to ensure maximum continuity.
