Vice President Sales, Markit Document Exchange
Looking for a dynamic and accomplished sales person to be a sales specialist for Markit’s industry standard document exchange. The successful individual will have a track record in building a pipeline and closing new business. Markit Document Exchange is a new business for Markit so the successful candidate has an opportunity to create a large, results-based, footprint in the firm.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Being the Sales Specialist for Markit Document Exchange in Europe with responsibility for buy-side accounts.
The candidate will be one of the main drivers of revenue acquisition for KYC and will ensure that business goals are achieved. Specifically responsibilities will include:
- Building a pipeline of well-qualified prospects from Markit’s existing buy-side customer base, and from cold-calling new prospects
- Making a contribution to the budgeting process
- Reporting of actual versus budgeted target on a regular basis
- Close collaboration with the Global Product Head in the implementation of all sales and marketing related activities which would include: conference /sponsorship participation, sales collateral production, association membershipKey sales contact for the Global Product Headr in the formulation of the product plans e.g. pricing strategies, commercial frameworks, documentation, and the maintenance of key business relationships
- Cross selling within existing and new business accounts
- Development initiatives with third party partners and industry best-of-breed
Skills and Experience Required:
- Proven experience in a sales arena, ideally from a data, financial software or banking background
- Proven ability to develop a sustainable pipeline from scratch
- Ability to present and negotiate with senior executives at key clients
- Must be organized with ability to manage multiple sales in parallel and multiple competing priorities
- Drive to meet internal/external deadlines
- Must have a self-starting, assertive with a positive attitude and considerable initiative
- Knowledge of KYC, trade processing, derivatives or master agreement negotiation would be desirable but not essential; Sales expertise and leadership qualities in a commercial sales environment has more significance than KYC domain knowledge
- Bachelors degree in Finance/Marketing preferred or equivalent
- The ability to build a sustainable business and provide input into all aspects of the commercial operation is vital
- Must be confident in high pressure environments and able to inspire confidence and trust at all times
- High level of competency in both written and verbal communication is essential
- Team player in a rapidly growing/changing environment and ability to inspire same in others is key
