VP, Structured Finance/ABS ( Asset Back Securities) Sales, Europe

Position summary
This is a major growth opportunity for a self-disciplined, ambitious and high energy individual to play a significant role in developing the franchise in Europe for Markit's growing ABS (Asset Backed Securities) business. 

Duties & accountabilities
The individual will be responsible for identifying, qualifying and closing leads, as well as demonstrating an advanced data and pricing platform used by institutional ABS (Asset Backed Securities) investors and traders worldwide.

The candidate will be the main driver of revenue acquisition for their specialist product line and will ensure that the business goals are achieved.

Business Competencies
  • Assistance in the budgeting process
  • Responsible for identifying and qualifying leads
  • Generating a continually growing pipeline of sales opportunities
  • Manage qualified sales opportunities, coordinating the entire sales process and working as a team player to efficiently utilise and deploy internal company resources, as well as cross selling within existing and new business accounts
  • Communicate all key information during the sales process so that management, client support and product development teams have timely information for decision makingAssistance in the implementation of all marketing related activities which would include:  conference /sponsorship participation, sales collateral production, client entertainment; association memberships
Education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Direct work experience in the Financial Services Industry, in fixed income or in ABS
  • Proven successful track record in consultative sales, repeatedly meeting and exceeding sales quotas
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout Europe and occasionally to New York
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain senior level relationships
  • Fluent in French or German an advantage.
  • Proven 5+ years sales experience from a data, financial software or banking background·   
  • Experience of  Structured finance products certainly a positive
  • Ability to present and negotiate  with senior level management whilst in many cases, managing  complex sales process
  • Must be organized and ability to manage multiple sales in parallel
  • Ability to meet internal/external deadlines
  • Personable and able to demonstrate initiative
  • Must have a self-starting, driven, assertive and positive attitude.

Management Experience
  • Not necessary but the candidate’s ability to take on greater responsibility will be important.

Commercial Awareness
  • Must be able to understand the sales process, be comfortable dealing with senior level negotiations etc

Must be confident in high pressure environment and able to manage senior level meetings.

High level of competency and good communication skills both written and verbal required
