Senior Analyst

Due to an exciting new initiative, Markit's New York team has several new job opportunities.  This Vice President/Senior Analyst position will support a new suite of products that brings together Markit’s Valuations and Trade Processing capabilities and services.
This Vice President/Senior Analyst position offers a unique opportunity for the right candidate to join a new initiative at its inception, be a significant contributor during its development phase, and potentially lead a team once the service is in production.    The applicant should have drive, a can-do attitude, and an ability to juggle a wide variety of responsibilities in a fast-moving environment. This is a global initiative, so the ideal candidate should also be willing to consider a relocation to one of Markit’s international offices.
 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

During the development phase, work with group head to conduct business planning and analysis, including:

• Developing pricing and commercial strategy
• Coordinating legal agreements and licenses with providers and clients
• Developing and maintaining meeting materials, plans, and communications with key investment banking partners
• Developing and maintaining materials for internal coordination within Markit
• Manage tracking and reporting of overall project status
• This role will transition to an operating role once the business is launched

Skills and Experience Required:

The successful candidate will have:

• Undergraduate degree
• MBA from top business school
• 4-6 years work experience with at least two years within financial services
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Solid project management skills
• A solid understanding of financial instruments
• Available for January 2008 start date
• Graduate degree in finance or economics
• Project or management consulting experience working with geographically diverse teams and across multiple disciplines
• Ability to communicate effectively to senior managers/excellent presentation skills

This position is at the Vice-President level.

During the development phase, this position will be located in Markit’s Westchester office in White Plains, NY.  However, once the product is launched, there may be a requirement to relocate overseas (e.g. Markit’s London office).
