Java Developer
Markit Group is the pre-eminent supplier of high value add, transaction critical financial information. Its customers are major investment banks, derivatives users, hedge fund and asset managers, risk controllers, exchanges and fund administrators. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
An opening has arisen for a Java developer within the Equities business, working within a busy team of 13 developers, some of whom are outsourced.
Responsibilities include analysis of business requirements and specifications, coding, testing, debugging, and writing documentation for new and existing Equity products.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Substantial experience working with Java and the Java technology stack
- Experience in using patterns and test driven development
- Knowledge of SQL, and experience of using it to develop applications for SQL Server and/or Oracle
- The candidate will need to demonstrate proven capability to clearly communicate in both written and verbal form
- The candidate needs to be personable as they will be required to work closely with other members of this team and other areas of Markit
- Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
- The candidate needs to be proactive and hardworking
