Director, Account Management – Europe

Job Description:

This is a senior appointment in Markit’s European account management team with responsibility for a number of our largest and most important clients in Europe. The successful candidate will have broad experience in financial markets, account management and the ability to manage complex relationships.

Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Identification of new business opportunities and referral to relevant product sales person
  • Development and execution of an account management plan
  • Relationship maintenance and development with key relationships
  • Working with product/sales groups in the execution of contracts
  • Close inter-action with product/sales groups in the delivery of Markit products and services
  • Renewal of existing contracts
  • Lead the development of an account management structure in Europe to appropriately support the growth of the business.
  • Strategic work and thinking with client base to identify new initiatives and partnership opportunities
  • Development of the infrastructure and process’s to support account management
  • Internal communication and reporting
  • Participation in specific project teams towards launch of new products and services

Skills and Experience:

  • Broad based experience with another market data vendor or investment bank at a senior level with exposure to managing complex relationships and/or process’s
  • Experience in key account management
  • Knowledge and experience of capital markets and especially OTC derivatives and/or structured credit
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong inter-personal and influencing skills
  • Existing relationships with the target client base would be beneficial
  • Key requirement of managing complex relationships towards the main objective of increasing revenue streams year-on-year in line with the account plan
  • Must be confident in high pressure environment and able to manage senior level meetings
  • High level of competency and good communication skills both written and verbal required
  • Team player and willing to progress in a rapidly growing/changing environment
