Data Integrity Analyst
Job Description:
Due to an exciting new initiative, Markit's New York team has several new job opportunities. This Analyst position will support a new suite of products that brings together Markit’s Valuations and Trade Processing capabilities and services. This Analyst position offers a unique opportunity for the right candidate to join a new initiative at its inception, be a key contributor during its development phase, and manage/support clients once it is launched. The applicant should have drive, a can-do attitude, and an ability to juggle a wide variety of responsibilities in a fast-moving environment. The applicant will ideally reside within reasonable commuting distance from the White Plains office.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Learn the technical details of Markit’s Valuations and Trade Processing products and services;
- Assess and document the requirements for monitoring tools and the processes to ensure data submitted by bank partners meets requirements;
- Work with Markit team and investment banks to conduct pre-launch testing;
- Communicate with investment banks to resolve data submission issues, missing fields, outliers, incomplete or broken feeds, etc. in production
- Track and generate regular reports on the data quality and integrity;
- Make recommendations and implement changes to reduce errors and improve operational efficiencies over time
The position is located in Markit’s Westchester office in White Plains, NY. There will be occasional requirements to be in Manhattan.
Requirements:
The successful candidate must be able to combine:
- Undergraduate degree in finance or technical field with strong GPA
- Approximately 3 years experience working with financial data
- Excellent communication and team skills
- Familiarity with data management and transmission, including relational databases, SQL, Excel, XML
- A solid understanding of financial derivatives and fixed income instruments, and the data fields associated with them
- Available for February 2008 start date
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in finance, engineering, or economics
- Programming or scripting experience in a high-level language
- 3-5 years of operational experience with derivatives at an investment bank
