Credit Data Analyst

Credit data is one of Markit’s core data products and the team is responsible for the analytics and operations related to a wide array of fixed income and credit product areas which include: bonds, CDS, credit indices, tranches, loans and loan CDS.
The position is located in White Plains, NY. Travel is occasionally required to support the products but is not expected to be significant.
Combining high-level analytical skills with knowledge of fixed income and credit markets.

Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Conduct analytics on large and diverse derivative pricing datasets
  • Aid in the generation of research reports
  • Provide secondary level of support to all client institutions
  • Interact with clients and contributors to develop and maintain strong relationships
  • Identify opportunities to maintain and improve the operational efficiencies of the data collection, processing and reporting framework
  • Support the development of new data products

Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of an undergraduate degree in finance, economics or mathematics
  • A strong interest in pursuing a career in finance
  • Knowledge of syndicated loans, credit derivatives and documentation practices is a plus
  • Highly motivated, disciplined, confident and a team player.  The ability to adjust to shifting priorities is a must
  • Detail-oriented, thorough, and display initiative to solve problems
  • A high level of proficiency in Excel.  VBA and SQL experience are desirable
  • Able to confidently express their positions, and demonstrate ability to influence a diverse group of colleagues
  • Customer service and satisfaction are key priorities for the firm. Candidates must be aware of the impact of their actions on internal and external clients
  • Given the importance of client contact in this role, candidates must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
