Associate Developer

Job Description:

An exciting new opening has arisen to join Markit's Portfolio Valuations department as a Junior Java/SQL developer working on financial pricing and modeling systems.

Duties and Accountabilities:

Implementation of financial pricing software using Java and Oracle technologies, working within a small team of 8 developers.  On the job training can be provided for all technical aspects of the job.

Skills and Experience:

  •  The ideal candidate will have an exceptional academic background in a numerate discipline (i.e. First Class Hons degree, or 2:1 Hons from Oxbridge, plus at least AAA/AAB at A level or equivalent)
  • Substantial experience of programming experience would be advantageous, but no professional programming experience is required
  • Precise verbal and written communication skills and fluent English essential
  • Proven ability to work within a team is desirable (e.g. internships, sports, university projects)
