Associate, Office Administrator

Job Description:

Position summary  Markit Group is the pre-eminent supplier of high value critical financial data.  Its customers are major investment banks, derivatives users, hedge fund and asset managers, risk controllers, exchanges and fund administrators.
A great opportunity has just become available for an administrator to join a busy, vibrant team within Markit. It is a varied and challenging role as you would be providing administrative support to the Office Manager and Infrastructure teams.

Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Providing admin support to the Office Manager and H/R
  • Reception cover (13.00 - 14.00)
  • Coordination with contractors providing office services, Cleaning, Maintenance,
  • Waste removals
  • Opening and distribution of the post
  • Distribution of faxes
  • Ordering stationery for the office
  • Providing refreshments for meetings
  • Monitoring stationery cupboards/stock
  • Updating and distribution of all company phone lists etc
  • Checking fax/Xerox machines
  • Basic I.T equipment set up (telephones, P.C’s)
  • Standing in for receptionist when absent

Skills and Experience:

  • The candidate will need to demonstrate proven capability to clearly communicate in both written and verbal form
  • The candidate needs to be personable as they will be required to work closely with other members of this team and other areas of Markit
  • The candidate need to be flexible and be prepared to work late if the business requires
  • The candidate must be a strong multi tasker who is capably of dealing with conflicting priorities and organize tasks in order of relevance
  • The candidate needs to be reliable, proactive and hardworking
  • Technical Good knowledge of MS Excel, Word
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
